The social network added a prompt in early October that appeared when a user tried to quote a tweet with controversial information, and Twitter said these prompts helped reduce quote tweets with misleading information by 29%.
Twitter support tweeted on Monday that those prompts will be expanded to likes so users can see them before they can like a tweet with the controversial information label.
The social network tweeted, “It is crucial to provide context as to why a labeled tweet among our elections is misleading. Covid-19 and synthetic and manipulated media rules are vital.”
