Election Winner Marjorie Taylor Greene Has Rough Day on Twitter

President Donald Trump wasn’t the only political figure on Twitter and Facebook the day after election day: Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, who won a seat in the House of Representatives for Georgia, also took in more than her fair share of time.

Greene had a whopping 20 tweets hidden behind the Twitter label on Wednesday that read, “Some or all of the content of this tweet is controversial and could be misleading about an election or other civil process.”

All tweets alleged the Democratic Party engaged in election fraud to steal Trump’s election. Most had the hashtag #StopTheSteal, including a handful that shared the hashtag, and nothing else. Examples (unprocessed) include:

  • Joe Biden said on video that Democrats built the largest “election fraud” operation in history. We’re seeing it full size right now!
  • The Democrats are working overtime to steal this election! We won’t let her. Sign your petition now to fight back!
  • The Silicon Valley Cartel is on the STEAL! Censor our President while DEMOCRATS are working overtime to STEAL THIS ELECTION! You have to fight me to stop this. Sign your petition:
  • IT IS OFFICIAL! The Silicon Valley cartel is censoring me. You can’t stop us. Please RT this and sign your petition. We won’t let Democrats STEAL THIS VOTE!
  • Don’t let up. NOT BACK. The Fake News Media lied about the polls. You’re lying about the voices now. We have to stop the steel! Join me in this battle for @realDonaldTrump.

Nicholas Pacilio, senior communications manager at Twitter, said no further action would be taken against Greene as it falls under the social networking’s leading global policy of allowing tweets to stay on the platform when there is a clear value of public interest consists.

Similar posts on Greene’s Facebook page weren’t hidden, but a label appeared below them quoting the Bipartisan Policy Center as saying, “Election officials follow strict rules when it comes to counting, handling, and reporting ballots.”

Greene is no stranger to social media controversy. There are documented examples of support for the QAnon conspiracy theory, as well as a since-deleted tweet in September that contradicted the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health authorities by saying children shouldn’t wear masks.

On September 3, Greene published a picture of her on Facebook, who was holding a weapon in her hand alongside the Democratic representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Ilhan Omar (Minn.) And Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), As well as the caption “ Squad’s worst nightmare. Hate America Left want to tear this country down. Our country is at stake. America needs fighters who are telling the truth. We need strong conservative Christians to take action against these socialists who want to tear our country apart. The Americans have to take our country back. SAVE AMERICA. STOP SOCIALISM. DEFEAT THE DEMOCRATS! “

The social network removed the picture the following day for violating its guidelines.
